Mental Health Advocate · Educator · Speaker · Founder of The Depression Chronicles
Shelly-Ann Shaw is a Jamaican mental-health advocate, educator, writer and speaker whose work connects emotional wellbeing, public education and the cultural stories people carry. As the founder of The Depression Chronicles, she has developed educational content, awareness initiatives and community resources reaching audiences in Jamaica and internationally. Yaadology extends that practice into Jamaican memory, language, oral history and everyday cultural life.
Her experience includes presentations and workshops in Jamaica, contributions to international discussions on depression-related health content, and digital-media collaborations. In 2021, she was an invited speaker and content adviser for Healthline Media’s Advocate Speaker Series on Major Depressive Disorder. Her wider work includes repeat sponsored-content collaborations associated with BetterHelp through InfluenceLogic, alongside educational-platform engagement and collaboration invitations from Graphy by Unacademy.
Through Yaadology, Shelly-Ann is available for cultural talks, moderated conversations, workshops, interviews and projects that bring Jamaican memory and lived experience into the room with context, warmth and care.
Ways to work together
Each collaboration begins with the subject, the people involved and the care the work requires. The format can then be shaped to suit the setting without turning Jamaican culture into a performance or a souvenir.
